Boardwalk Empire is over and I am sad

One of my favorite tv shows of all time, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire is over. As soon as I knew that Martin Scorsese would produce a gangster tv show set in the 1920s I knew I would love it. And I did! Through all 5 seasons I enjoyed the plot, the characters and, as you can imagine, the fashion featured in the series.

But on this blog post I want to focus my attention to the garments shown on the last season of the show, which took place in the early 1930s. Don’t worry If you haven’t seen the finale yet, I won’t post any spoilers! 😉
I really love Margaret’s change in sense of fashion. She is pictured above wearing a magnificent burgundy dress with a striped details. Very glamorous and sophisticated, and matches her 1930s waves.
Patricia Arquette, who plays Sally in the series, also rocks the 1930s look by adding berets and hair accessories to her looks.

In men’s fashion, the style hasn’t changed as much as in women, but it is clear that now gangsters wear those iconic italian suits featured in dozens of films about mobsters, such as The Godfather.
I hope you all have a great week, the last of 2014! xx
