Another year goes by, and just like I did in 2015, I’ve listed the movies I cannot wait to see in 2017. I’m a cinephile obsessed with period movies, so obviously I had to write an article about the must see titles that will hit theaters soon. Enjoy!
Loving
Based on a true story, the film is set in the 1950s and tells the story of the first interracial couple who changed the law that prohibited interracial marriage.
Jackie
Probably the most anticipated movie of the year. Natalie Portman portrays Jackie Kennedy in this film, which is said to lead her straight to the Academy Awards. The movie focuses on her life with JFK and after the assassination.
Hidden Figures
Mad Men fans, this movie’s for you. Also based on true events, Hidden Figures tells the story of a group of African American scientists and mathematics who play key roles during the Moon landing in 1969.
The Zookeper’s Wife
Jessica Chastain is perfect in every role she plays, and in this movie, she portrays Antonina Zabinski, a zookeeper that helped save animals and people from the Nazi invasion in Poland during WWII. Based on a true story.
