Hello there! Long time no post, I know! Sometimes life can get very busy and you don’t get much time to blog. But this summer is going to be a wild one, I promise!
If you’ve been following me for a while pretty sure you’re aware of my obsession with anything tiki/tropical. And when I discovered She’s Dynamite and their designs, I knew it was time to buy a tiki sarong dress!
The sarong was a very popular dress design in the late 1940s and 1950s, and was often associated with tropicalism. This curve-hugging design is definitely my favourite dress type, so I decided to get this purple beauty from She’s Dynamite.
This UK based clothing brand is specialised in midcentury and vintage inspired designs, all of them made with high quality fabrics.
The Petal Bust Batik dress is available in two different styles: in a swing skirt or sarong dress. Available from size 8 up to 16, it can also be made into your own measurements. You can check their size chart, and if you are between sizes do not hesitate to ask!
Due to my bust measurements I ordered a size 14. Although it was the right fit in that area, I had to alter the waist and hips a bit to ensure the dress would hug my curves better. To be honest, I should have given my exact measurements before buying instead of choosing a size. Note to self: always ask before buying!
Made of a beautiful lilac hawaiian fabric, the Petal Bust Batik dress is available to order online. It’s the perfect design to live a tiki summer! And a tiki outfit is not complete without some hair flowers and bamboo accessories. I matched the dress to my newest Lady Luck’s Boutique beauties, and had a wonderful photo shoot by the sea.
The result: a set of stunning photographs by the talented Germán Hernández. It is always a pleasure to work with him. We visited my hometown, Castelldefels, to shoot at the beach and also at a Beach Club, where the owners kindly let us use a Surf board for the photoshoot.
Have a fabulous summer!
Hope you liked my post! All pictures by Germán Hernández.
