Joan Holloway and her style evolution

My favorite tv show of all time, Mad Men, came back yesterday for its final seven episodes. I can’t believe it’s coming to an end.
Since I am a total nerd of the show, I decided to make a blog post about one of my favorite characters, Joan Holloway. She’s a total babe, and one of the reasons why I dyed my hair red. Yes, am not joking!
From the very first scene, we can clearly see that her outfits embrace their curves. She’s always wearing fitted dresses, which mark their hourglass figure.

Doesn’t matter the occasion: she’s always flawless and sexy. Her character styles 1950s dresses with a 1960s twist, due to her figure. There is no doubt that 1950s and early 1960s fashion fits her best.
And she never leaves her pendant, which styles nearly everyday with her blouses and dresses to emphasize her curves.
The two final seasons of the show show us a character that, despite the fashion of the era, tries to fit in a decade that is constantly changing. She adapts her wardrobe a bit, but still wears fitted dresses.
Hope you have a great start of the week, and If you’re fans of the show, enjoy the final episodes! x

She’s a Lady

I have been busy with personal issues and I have decided to move the shop opening to next month. Things have changed drastically in my life and I am a bit uncertain about the future.
Anyway…Don’t worry! I will open the shop and keep up with the blog.
The other day, while looking for garments suitable for the shop, I came across a beautiful dress that I was intending to sell. Not anymore ’cause it is so gorgeous that I had to keep it!

It is a late 50s/early 60s dress from a Spanish designer in perfect condition and has pockets!

I was so excited to keep it that I had to get some photographs on it. Excuse the bad quality photos, but I had to take that opportunity to get pictured with my “new” hair!
All shots taken in my grandma’s flat, which, as you can see, is like being in a Film set.

Have a lovely week, folks!

Mad Men: "For Your Consideration" Emmy Campaign

One of my all time favorite tv shows, Mad Men, is coming to and end with its 7th season. From the moment I watched the first episode I knew I would love the show and its marvelous characters. As a huge tv addict, I rather enjoy watching a quality show than wasting my time with other insignificant activities.

The thing is, that due to the lack of awards (and nominations) that the show has had, social media users have come up with a campaign so that the Television Academy, which every year hosts the Emmy Awards, considers the main actors that have developed their characters throughout the series and haven’t got any recognition for it. So how does the campaign work? Starring in vintage-inspired ads as a homage to the show and the time period. These include John Slattery (Roger Sterling), Christina Hendricks (Joan Holloway) and Kiernan Shipka (Sally Draper), among others.

Aren’t they amazing? Who’s your favorite character? I would love them all to win! ❤
